Kamilla had a fun weekend. On Saturday we went out for a walk and did not let the cold weather stop us. Actually it was getting warmer only -1°C :) We dressed ourselves up very warmly and off we went, me walking and Kamilla in her Emmaljunga pram. She had on two pairs of wool socks, fleece clothes, snow-suit and all and she was tucked in an lambskin bag (gæru-kerrupoki) (old one from when I was little) and her comforter (sæng) on top. She also had a lambskin hat but only wool mittens ;) I'm not going to discuss the time it took to get everything in place but practice makes perfect. You people living in warmer climates, you have no idea how lucky you are not even having to put hats and mittens on your kids all the time :o !
She didn't get cold but her noise and cheeks were red (chistmas red). First we stopped at my friends house to pick up some books there. She has a 4 month old baby and Kamilla had a lot of fun playing with all her toys. She also has a little budgie which was out a little bit. I had him sit on Kamilla, the little bird is so much better for her then our cockatiels, the size fit perfectly. She is such a pro when it comes to birds, she didn't mind at all having the bird sitting on her and just let it be. Then it was time to get all the clothes back on and head out again. Our main goal for the walk was to go and visit my co-worker María. Her grandchild (Eva Dís) is the same age as Kamilla, born August 2nd and Kamilla is born August 7th. She was babysitting her over the weekend. As we came María was comming home with her sister and sister-in-law and bunch of kids. They had gone out to see some christmas show downtown. Kamilla was thrilled with all the kids, there were 2 girls same age as her and then the rest older (at least 6 other kids). We got some hot cacao and cookies and the kids played. Eva Dís is so much bigger then Kamilla and she has much more hair, she looks like she could be 2yo!!! They played well 'together' (they hardly play together rather side by side).
We walked back and although the walk is not long it was hard because of all the snow. In most places the snow had been cleared but not all. It was like a big work-out to go through the snow with the pram and Kamilla and all her clothes!
Sunday was fun as well, she got to spend some time helping her grandmother to help her great-grandmother put up the christmas lights. They didn't come back until 7PM and then we had to go home (I was at my moms working in the meantime). Kamilla was so exhausted that I had a hard time keeping her awake until we got home. I tried singing to her, which worked for a while and then I started to shake her arms (like I was saying greeting her). It was funny because her eye's were closed but she was smiling ;) Then shaking her belly but the thing that worked the best was to honk the noise, lol. We made it just before all my attempts to keep her awake became futile.
