Anderson kids
Friday, December 16
Finally I give myself a little time to write. A lot is going on, especially because it's Advent. On Wednesday Kamilla invited us to a christamas tea party at her school. They kids sang christmas songs and then invited their parents to a coffee and ginger snaps they made themselves. Actually Kamilla wasn't in school the day they made the cookies. She went to the ear doctor who concluded that everything was good with her tubes and it took two people to hold Kamilla down for her ears to be inspected. Talk about fear of doctors!
The party was fun. The little kids didn't sing, they were too supprised to see all the adults there. In Kamilla's departement (deild??) there are three groups with 2-3 year old kids, six in each group. After we sang each group sat together with their parents and ate fruits and cookies.
Kamilla is really loving the Christmas season. This is the first year she is aware of something going on. She goes on and on about christmas lights, which are abundant here. She points and says jólaljós (christmas lights) except in her cute little 2yo way it's pronounced lólalós and usually accompanied with a hugh vááá (wowwww).
Ása Sóley has no clue what's going on with Christmas. She is just busy using her newfound skills, like sitting and little bit of eating. She eats cheerious and sometimes gets a little slice of an apple. I tried scraping the apple and giving to her but she didn't like that. She also doesn't like mushed banana.
ÁS started to do something that her mom is not too crazy about. Waking up in the evenings. Usually she goes to sleep around 8 PM and sleeps until 7 AM, waking up only to feed couple of times. Now she wakes back up at 10 PM and stays up for couple of hours!!! Hmmm... She is happy about this too, just sits in the sofa and plays happily. So not all of my evening is lost but it does take away some of my Christmas preperation time, mostly gift making time.
